Many people think that palmistry is fortune telling only by the lines on the palm. In fact, for a correct and accurate prediction, it is necessary to analyze the fingers, which can provide a lot of important information about the character and innate qualities of a person.
The shape of the fingers in palmistry is determined by the first phalanx (nail joint) and can be conical (pointed), square and spatulate.
Conical fingers

People with pointed fingers have a sharp and quick mind, a democratic character, kindness, peacefulness and independence. They can boast of good mental abilities, and their spiritual development is at a high level. These people are characterized by the predominance of the spiritual over the material. Thanks to a sharp and flexible mind, they can easily get rich, but this rarely captivates them.
From the point of view of palmistry, conical fingers are a symbol of independence and indicate contemplation and a constant need for love and affection. People with conical fingers are artistic natures, sometimes prone to posing, loving beauty and harmony.
If conical fingers are smooth – have weakly expressed joints, then this means that their owner has abilities in the arts. If the fingers are long, then this person is probably a poet or an artist. Sculptors, architects or specialists in decorative and applied arts usually have short or medium fingers.
Knotty conical fingers indicate the owner’s inclination to philosophy and meticulousness in details. Such fingers characterize the love of truth in the form in which this person imagines it. Here we can talk about a researcher, scientist, doctor or, for example, an investigator.
Square fingers

A person with square (angular) fingers is serious, capable of deep thinking, loves order, has a sharp and critical mind, is self-confident and strives for power over people. He is guided by theoretical reasoning and moves on to practice only after a thorough analysis of the situation. He has order everywhere and in everything, and his life credo is written in laws, instructions, rules, algorithms and other guidelines. Such a person is constant in his thoughts and deeds, and therefore predictable.
People with square fingers are prone to analytical thinking and can prove themselves in the exact sciences. If the fingers are knotty, then they characterize a person who acts only after mature reflection and manifest themselves in choosing a career as a lawyer or prosecutor.
Most often, successful businessmen and people engaged in applied sciences have square fingers.
Spatulate fingers

This finger shape is typical for active natures. They like physical work along with mental work, they are endowed with rationalism on an instinctive level, physical strength, and the ability to craft and engineer. However, their practicality is based not so much on analytical mind and prudence as on intuition and past experience.
Owners of spatulate fingers are responsive to emotional manifestations and are prone to ostentatious effects. They are energetic, proactive, resourceful and inventive. Without going into the details of the plan as a whole, they try to complete tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible, taking into account all available resources. Such fingers can be seen in highly qualified workers, farmers, industrial managers, and engineers.
Phalanges and joint nodes on the fingers
The fingers consist of three phalanges: the nail phalanx , which expresses the emotional sphere; the middle phalanx , which is responsible for the intellectual sphere and the root phalanx, which determines the material sphere. The length of the phalanges indicates the strength of the corresponding qualities, and the thickness shows a tendency to excess. Equally elongated phalanges of all zones indicate a balance of a person’s interests in the emotional, intellectual and material spheres.
Fingers may have more or less pronounced knottiness – thickening of the joints: knotty fingers indicate down-to-earthness, while smooth ones indicate refinement of character.
Length of fingers
If a person has long fingers , he tends to pay attention to details, he likes laborious, painstaking work. Such a person is patient and gets real pleasure from “subtle” moments. Whatever he does, his work should be exciting and captivating. If it is too simple, primitive and monotonous, he will quickly lose interest in it.
A person with short fingers is not interested in all sorts of details and trifles, because he has no patience. Such a person is always busy, often he starts a new task without having time to finish the previous one. It also happens that he is absorbed in several things at once. He wants to get everything at once, so patience is not his strongest feature.
A person with medium-length fingers is very patient, but sometimes it happens that he first takes one or another step, and only then begins to think about the consequences of his actions. If such a person is truly interested in something, he tries to get to the very essence and master everything to the smallest detail. If the interest is temporary or superficial, he is satisfied with general information and does not seek to get acquainted with the details.
Fingers and Planets
In palmistry, the fingers have names that correspond to the names of the planets and are associated with the planetary hills (mounts) located beneath them. This is where palmistry is connected to astrology:

The thumb is Venus
Middle finger – Saturn
Ring finger – Apollo
The little finger is the finger of Mercury
